Mission:

The Business developer is responsible for generating and growing the sale of products and services in line with Group strategy and financial targets.

His/Her geographical scope spans over the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg and encompasses products and services in both the Citizen Identity and Public Security fields. The new markets in Public Security will have the main focus.

He/She contributes to the increase of IDEMIA market shares in the region and thus to the profitable growth of the company.

He/She contributes to the programs executed in the region, working jointly with the relevant program managers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Roles & Responsibilities

Identify and develop business opportunities

  • Identify opportunities (clients, needs, solutions) in the Citizen Identity and Public Security markets
  • Evaluate the potential of opportunities identified (attractiveness, ease of development, potential revenues and margin)
  • Work jointly with Pre-sales & Bid team to transform the opportunities into order intake and revenues
  • Identify and develop local partnerships when sensible
  • Influence customer network and anticipate tender issuance in order to trigger, in collaboration with the Pre-Sales, Bid and Program teams, the inclusion of IDEMIA Unique Selling Points in tenders
  • Ensure that IDEMIA is invited to participate in tenders
  • Prepare IDEMA response to tenders with the bid team (Pre-Sales, Bid, Program)
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure their signature by client
  • Closely cooperate with Program manager during delivery phase to ensure customer satisfaction and extend commercial opportunities
  • Drive the timely delivery of reports requested by the Group and guarantee that information in sales tools (e.g. Salesforce) are up-to-date

Develop market awareness of IDEMIA solutions

  • Identify key clients / influencers and understand their needs and preferences
  • Develop and maintain a network of key relationships (clients, influencers) to promote IDEMIA products and services
  • Participate in/Drive the presentation of IDEMIA Group and solutions in trade fairs, in other events and directly to clients, in collaboration with Pre-Sales and Sales teams
  • Contribute to the identification of additional client markets and needs as well as to competitive intelligence; share with Pre-sales, Bid and other Sales teams

Capabilities

General

  • Background in conceptual sales of technology driven products & services
  • Hunting skills on corporate level (preferable in Government)
  • Ability to perform account development planning
  • Command of business fundamentals (notably on sales)
  • Listening, observation and anticipation skills
  • Pro-activity and ownership
  • Spirit directed to customer satisfaction
  • Respect of lead-times
  • Respect of Group policies, notably in terms of « Trade Compliance »

Communication

  • Ability to work in teams in an international and multidisciplinary environment
  • Fluent in English

Technical

  • Knowledge of products and services
  • Understanding of client needs
  • Competition analysis
  • Basics of contract management and finance

Background

  • Education: Master academic level
  • At least a 5-year experience
  • Conceptual sales on a corporate level
  • It would be helpful to have experience in the field of security
